A Vision Come to Life

 

Medicini - House of Medici + Cini Italian spelling of Cheney, Tim Cheney, the new owner of the Newcastle Publick House, was inspired to create a venue for the prolific and immensely talented musicians in Maine and for a local desire for Italian cuisine in the Midcoast area.  Renovation of a vacant barn and garage tucked behind the historic Newcastle Publick House hatched his vision, resulting in a warm, inviting restaurant that blends rustic charm with modern comfort — a space designed for good meals and even better company.

Head chef Judd Velez, brings 38 years of experience, knowledge and a passion for quality ingredients to every dish. A Chicago native, Chef Velez’s inspiring menu is built on generational and authentic traditions shaping each Italian meal tempered with local Midcoast Maine ingredients. With the food speaking for itself, it’s no surprise that Medicini has already earned rave reviews and a steady local following.

Medicini entertainment offers a robust variety of events throughout the week, including the locally famous open mic on Thursdays, and live music on weekends. It’s all a part of our vision to bring people together and make Medicini a special part of the Newcastle community.
